Creating and configuring the Gazetteer

Prior to running Routes to School the Gazetteer must be created and configured.

To create a Gazetteer follow the Create a new Gazetteer definition followed by Editing an existing definition instructions in the Gazetteer Search topic in the SIS online Help.

Note: If you set up a Gazetteer to work from Oracle then on the first use you will have to enter the Oracle user credentials. This process is described in the Oracle-based Gazetteer-first use topic.

The Select Fields dialog will be displayed:

The fields be selected in the Select Fields dialog are:

ADDRESS Search tick box checked, Results tick box checked
POSTCODE Search tick box checked
X_COORDINATE Easting tick box checked
Y_COORDINATE Northing tick box checked

Click Next.

The Definition Name dialog will be displayed:

Enter a name for the definition.

If you want this entry to be the default check the Make default tickbox.

Click Save.

The Export Definitions (optional) dialog will be displayed:

Click Save As if required.

Click Finish.

The Cadcorp Gazetteer Definition Wizard will close.
